About Us

Brant Fontenot and Randall Patterson, founders of B + R Installations, have been involved in the construction and manufacturing business for the better part of their adult lives. They were introduced to each other in 1995 while working together at a custom elevator cab interior manufacturing company.

Brant left the elevator industry in 1999 and began working as a sub-contractor building shade structures and patio covers. Randall joined him in 2000, where they worked together as sub-contractors until 2001.

After that first year of working together in the patio shade cover industry, Brant and Randall were questioning whether or not their career move was a mistake. The companies that they were sub-contracting for were consistently short changing their customers, making empty promises, and leaving a trail of unhappy clients in their wake. Brant and Randall saw an industry devoid of any sort of integrity. 

They saw the opportunity for a company to emerge as a leader in the backyard improvement business. A company that was honest in its business practices, kept its word to its customers, treated them with respect and dignity, and offered them custom designs and installations with superior products and outstanding customer service.  

In August of 2001 B + R Installations were founded, and became incorporated in 2004.

A Word about the Competition

Unlike large “franchise” companies or “big box” retailers, with B + R Installations you will work directly with the Company’s management team from start to finish. As a family owned and operated company, our team of professionals at B + R Installations is held more closely accountable to you, the homeowner. With large “franchise” operations or “big box” retailers, there are many layers of bureaucratic “red tape” to cut through before a problem can be corrected should one arise. Then, these big companies will usually unload all of their service issues on the sub-contractor that performed the installation, who may or may not still be in business. More than likely, the sub-contractor made little or no money during the installation phase of the project, and the chances of getting him back to your home to address a service or warranty issue are less than favorable.   

On the opposite end of the spectrum from the “corporate giants” are the small, fly-by-night, “here today gone tomorrow” type contractors (or “trunk slammers” as they are sometimes called in the construction industry). At B + R Installations, we do not use sub-contractors of any kind during any phase of our projects. Our entire staff is made up of hourly employees and all projects are managed in-house.
